FAA 333 EXEMPT / PART 107 Certified

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

MOTHERSHIP AERIAL is a self-sufficient team, here for all your dynamic aerial and ground based filming needs.

We're a small team of pilot cinematographers that shows up prepped and fully equipped for multiple flights. Based in Los Angeles, we are FAA 333 exempt and Part 107 certified.

Up to 400 feet in the air with the latest cinema cameras, we capture breathtaking footage.  In house equipment includes the latest Drone technology from Freefly Systems, including the heavy lifting Alta 8.  Our cameras include models from Arri, RED, and Sony. We also use the MōVI Pro gimbal stabilizer for securing our cameras and controlling the angle.

We know that every project is unique. Depending on yours we can choose from a variety of camera and stabilization systems.  Weight permitting, we can fly your camera and lenses if you'd prefer.

What we offer

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Our small team can take on ambitious projects because of our self-sufficiency.  While many larger companies require offsite support that burns time and money, we show up with the tools and knowledge to fly.  Nothing else required.

THE MISSION

MOTHERSHIP AERIAL KNOWS NO LIMITS

We have the confidence that accompanies the proper qualifications and knowledge of FAA safety and regulations.  Our 333 exemption, and compliance with part 107, permit Mothership Aerial to explore boundaries, and lead in field where innovation meets creativity.

We know the rules, so we can fly pretty much anywhere.  That's not an oxymoron.  Knowing who to call to authorize a flight, even in busy airspace, separates an experienced crew from a pack of amateurs.  Just let us know where you plan to shoot and we will work to make sure your flight is set up properly.

On the day, our flights produce wide varieties of images, from hovering wide shots to intricate sweeping motions that dip to pass our subjects.  Our technology is versatile, and we have the experience to stretch its possibilities.

NOW WITH NIGHT WAIVER

WE ARE SET TO FLY AT ANY HOUR

From the lights of a city skyline to the stars over a desert, the night time atmosphere provides incredible opportunities for aerial images.

We are fully permitted to capture them with the full capabilities of all our tools.  Any gear you see here, we can take out and fly in the middle of the night.

ALTA 8

The Freefly ALTA series is today's premiere heavy lift drone.  Capable of a 20 lb payload, this drone carries cinema cameras on a Movi Pro gimble, which turns on an axis to capture shots exactly the way you’ve imagined them.  What makes it unique is both its folding design and the option to also top mount the camera, for fast forward tracking shots or an interesting perspective, looking straight up.

ALTA 6

Except for flying on six propellers, this craft is nearly identical to the Alta 8.  If carries a 15 lb payload, also capable of flying a cinema camera with a variety of prime lenses.  We always carry on of these as well as the Alta 8 whenever we go out on flights that require heavy lifting.

INspire 2

Our Inspire 2 is a lightweight and very versatile tool.  It will not carry cinema cameras but still captures great images, and is able to fly faster, higher, and longer than its more heavyweight Alta cousins.  This is great for sweeping landscapes or shooting over the tops of city buildings.

CAMERA & STABILIZATION

Alexa mini

Compact, lightweight and self-contained, the ARRI ALEXA Mini is a versatile additional tool in the ALEXA camera range.

RED WEAPON

Compact, lightweight and self-contained, the ARRI ALEXA Mini is a versatile additional tool in the ALEXA camera range. Crews will find that the ALEXA Mini perfectly complements their ALEXA shooting kit, eliminating the complications of working with third-party cameras for specialized shots and keeping everything within a single system that is trusted all over the world.

MOVI PRO

When taking a camera into the sky, versatility and adaptability of motion are essential in its rigging.  That’s why we use the latest Movi series gimbal models.  This design creates the perfect marriage of simplicity in design and complexity in motion. With this Gimbal, a Director of Photography can operate the camera from the ground, coordinating exquisite shots in concert with our pilot.

Tero

The Tero is the perfect tool for tracking shots over long distances.  Its stabilization system creates the illusion that the camera is on dolly tracks, even as it races alongside a speeding car.  Its wheels are versatile, allowing it to cover a variety of terrain, and indoor arenas as well.
